Cana; New Relationships Between Men and Women

The Gospel story of the Wedding at Cana has a profound mystical meaning. In that sense, the spouses are Jesus and Mary, the New Adam and the New Eve. This is why Jesus calls her "Woman" (cf. Genesis 2) both at Cana and at Calvary. They reveal the redemption of men and women and the new relations now possible between them. Jesus is the God-Man, but He wanted to be helped by Mary.
